April 1 gimmicks

My favorite part of April Fool’s the last few years has been sifting through all the pranks being pulled across the intarwubs.

-Google’s latest endeavor, code-named CADIE, is the first true AI entity. It’s already self-aware.
-The latest O’Reilly book explores the very complex Unix command, “cat”.
-If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em: The Pirate Bay is acquired by Warner Bros.
-The Conficker worm has certainly lived up to its April 1 doomsday predictions: an ATM spewing out 100-euro notes, and a nuclear silo going on full alert.

I compiled a list of my favorites from this year.

Happy April Fool’s!
