It’s Expo Time! It’s Expo Time!

Today is the local project expo in Research Triangle Park, showcasing what we ExtremeBlue interns have been working on since late May.

::Edit:: I apologize for the brevity of this post and the quality of the pictures – the entire thing was done from the Expo on my iPhone.

“Researches say, the devestation was… devestating. The complete obliteration of the region is speculated to have caused by a quantum singularity. Scientists speculate, the influx of nerds to such a confined area is may have caused a gravitational collapse of the spacetime continum.”

It all happend so fast! When I first saw them gather around, I didn’t think much of it. It started after I heard them mention the words “Ajax”, “Cloud” and “Linux” all at once. Then the whole place started to feel heavy as if some magic spell had been cast.

Next thing I know, everything in the building went black. Chairs, desks, computers and Red Bull cans started flying toward the black center. I had to hold on to a vending machine and point a Britney Spears CD at the black hole to keep myself from getting pulled in.

Man, you hit the nail on the head. I had so much fun going over our project with various IBMers who decided to drop by for the day. It was exhausting, to be sure, but also exhilarating.

We’re heading up to Armonk on Sunday for an expo at the IBM Headquarters on Monday and Tuesday, so the nerdulance is only going to increase. Black hole? More like supernova. πŸ˜›

Is the Expo invite-only or can anyone drop in?

Just curious, because I travel to Mt. Kisco to see clients on occasion (used to live there a while back too) and Armonk is fairly close by. About 15 minutes by car.

I actually have no idea; I’ve invited a friend of mine who lives in the NY area to visit Monday evening, since we’ll be celebrating the end of our presentations. But in terms of those present, I honestly don’t know…I’ll have to ask! It would be awesome to have a familiar (at least in the internet sense :P) face in the crowd!

      • eksith says:

lol, See if it’s OK πŸ˜€

I live further up North now, but I may have a client job sometime early this week. On my way, I might find time to pay a quick visit.

I have to time this when I get a ride since I don’t drive (long story).

      • magsol says:

        Will do! πŸ˜€

My flight in the morning will be on the same plane as my supervisors, so I’ll be able to ask them if the convention is open to third parties. As soon as I hear one way or the other, I’ll leave another comment here.

      • magsol says:

Just talked with one of my supervisors – apparently the assumption is IBM Confidential material (even though it’s almost never actually the case), so only other IBMers are permitted in the conference center =/

      • eksith says:

        Bummer…

Oh well, that’s the way things are sometimes.

At least the blogs are here πŸ˜›
