When I hopped off the bus in front of the building where I work, I saw a bunch of people looking into the grassy field immediately behind the bus stop. I turned…and couldn’t believe what I saw. This guy was majestic, but given that he was hanging out so close to people, I was really worried that he was injured. He seemed to be moving around just fine, but the lack of flight seemed very strange. I took this picture and sent it off to the city of Pittsburgh’s animal control, but never heard anything back.
The rest of the day was spent organizing lots of things at work: finishing up one last computation for a paper (and of course that led me to think of another one…), collating lots of other papers I’ve printed out into something resembling an ordered fashion, moving codebases around and documenting them properly, and generally getting my ducks in a row. I’m a little worried that I still haven’t written a lick of my proposal yet, but I’m hoping to get that going this weekend, giving me a head start on next week.
I have a to-do list a mile long, the biggest stressor of which is the fact that I don’t know exactly what is on said to-do list just yet.
I’m going to make an effort not to distract you more than once a day this month. Anyway, you should definitely hire Wil Wheaton, he’s good at collating papers.
