Day 9: Baptism

IMG_1186

He’s the most adorable little boy. I’ve only ever been to one Baptism previously where the baby cried before the water, and quieted down after. He even soaked in the applause from everyone present at the mass; he’s quite the ham, apparently!

Not only is he my first nephew (I assume he’s my nephew now, and doesn’t just magically become so when I go from engaged to married?), but as his parents are in a similar situation on the religion end to that of The Lady and myself, I was chosen to be the godfather (the mother’s maid of honor is the godmother). It was and continues to be an incredible honor that I’m very excited to fulfill over the course of his life.

Though it is absolutely imperative that I see The Godfather as soon as humanly possible, lest I risk shirking my newfound duties.

Before I read the text, I got the shock of my life.

Always remember to leave the gun and take the cannoli. Cannoli is very important; guns, not so much.

Hahahaa. In reading over it again, I can absolutely see how misleading that might look. And the first paragraph after the picture doesn’t dispel any first impressions either. Wow, sorry about that, was definitely not my intention 😛

THAT’S what I was trying to remember. I’ve heard that a million times before. I just need to watch the movie.
